Vilnius pictures filmed in 1943 by cameraman Stepas Uzdonas arrived to Lithuania
Lithuanian Central State Archive has got the unique film material about Vilnius during the Second World War. These are Vilnius pictures filmed in 1943 by famous cameraman Stepas Uzdonas. Vilnius Old Town streets, squares, buildings of that time revive in film frames. Some of them burned or have been destroyed at the end of the war. This material has been found in Russian State Archive of Film and Photo documents in Krasnogorsk (Moscow district) during the works of film heritage research, identification and collection done by Lithuanian Film Centre. The pictures of Vilnius filmed in 1943 by S.Uzdonas were uknown in Lithuania before.
